Tuesday 12th February 2008 at Clober Golf Club 15 Clubs were represented at our Annual meeting, those that failed to have anyone attend were Cardross, Clober, Clydebank Overtoun, Helensburgh, Lenzie, Palacerigg, Sandyhills, Windyhill, apologies were received from Hayston. Reports Those present were welcomed by our President Gary Smith, we then moved on to reports, as there has been no contact from our secretary in almost a year there was no report, Treasurer's report was made available and only point I raised was that we were running quite low on League Ties and did we wish to purchase some more, there was no discussion from the members so it has been left in abeyance. Election of Office Bearers It has been felt that in the past the president only stood for a year was perhaps to short and with that in mind we have changed it to 2 years at a time. As Gary having had a very busy last year being that it was the Vale of Leven's Centenary he had not asked anyone to be his Vice and he has now proposed Cammy Nairn to be his Vice President this year it was seconded by Jamie Rodden (Hilton Park) there were no other nominations, it then fell to the secretary's position and it was decided to combine both secretary and treasurer into one job, Derek McAteer (Dullatur) proposed myself and it was seconded by Andrew Brownlie (Campsie), there being no other nominations I accepted Thank You Gentlemen for your vote of confidence. A.O.C.B. David Carstairs (Kirkintilloch) asked about the possibility of junior players who have achieved senior playing rights at their own course be allowed to play in the league, a great deal of discussion took place back and forth but eventually it was agreed that this was not feasible at this time. Douglas Park raised the issue of them having been penalised by 2 point deduction at the start of this year's season, there was a great deal of discussion on the matter and eventually it was agreed that we had only just last year put this rule in our rules and that it should not be changed under any circumstances. It was agreed by all clubs present that Rule 6 of the League rules be invoked for ALL clubs that failed to play ties last year as per discussion at 2007's A.G.M. Being no other items for discussion the President then closed the meeting and thanked all those that came along and wished them a safe journey home. Gents for future reference I have had feedback from some Convenors saying that they did not know the date or fixture of the A.G.M so please be aware that next years A.G.M shall be Tuesday 10th February 2009 at Clober Golf Club 7.30pm, if this is not enough notice then we shall have to look to some other means of notice.
