Here follows the report for 2011:-

Gents a very good turnout from you all, apologies were received from Kirkintilloch and Sandyhills.

Bearsden, Clydebank, Palacerigg and lets not forget Dumbarton failed to appear.

Presidents Report

 Derek McCulloch thanked all those present and welcomed them along on the evening.

Secretary's Report

Thanks must go to all Convenors for completing their matches on time and again to all who helped in getting courses on the playoffs. Special thanks to Dullatur for assisting me by getting a date, course and time for our final, they showed the spirit that the League is renowned for. Thanks to Derek McCulloch for attending the final with me and a tremendous days golf was had.

Convenors Day

Many thanks to Helensburgh for hosting this year’s event. An excellent turnout and some tremendous weather also, well done to you all. My personal thanks to Ray Ford for his hospitality to "my assistants" and myself on the day.

On a personal note may I thank the convenors that could not manage along BUT still had their club represented, Many Thanks.

Next Year :- Hilton Park    Date and time still to be arranged

Forrest Cup

Many thanks to Kirkintilloch Golf Club for hosting our Forrest Cup this year, their Convenor Stevie Larwood and all the members for the courtesy of the course, thanks to President Derek and my wife and daughter for all their help during the day, it is greatly appreciated.

Next Year :- Kilsyth  Sunday 24th July 2011 with 1st tee time at 10.00am

Treasurer's Report

A report was submitted and figures clarified for members approval no questions were asked and report was approved. Proposed by Bishopbriggs and seconded by Cawder. Annual fees for clubs to stay the same as the last 3 years.

Motions

Chad Wright from the Vale of Leven placed a motion before the meeting which read

“The Captain of each team must simultaneously hand a copy of their pre-determined team selection sheet to the opposing team Captain prior to the match commencing.  The sheet shall indicate the full names of players, their corresponding handicaps and clearly state the order of play for each pair (Including the players in the reserve match).  No Captain shall have the right to view the opposition’s team sheet to aid in their own team selection and order of play.”

After a great deal of discussion it was agreed to word it differently and add it as another rule. Rule 2.A

Election of Office Bearers

Derek McCulloch nominated his Vice Bill McCoo as President for the next year, it was seconded by Alan Pursley (Clober), no further nominations were received and it was approved. Bill then took over chair and proposed Alan Bankier (Kilsyth) as Vice President for the next year and it was seconded by Derek McCulloch, no further nominations were received, Bill then moved on to Secretary/Treasurer and proposed myself for the position it was seconded by Eddie Gracie, no further nominations were received and I accepted the position.

At this stage a discussion took place as to how the Immediate Past President be asked to stay on Committee this year and it was agreed.

A.O.C.B

Course Navigation Systems.

It was agreed that Electronic Measuring Devices be allowed from now on but  must be off a type approved by the Scottish Golf Union, any device that allows wind speed or direction also slope of green shall not be permitted. There was some discussion about reserves also but was left at Convenors discretion.

Jim Cowan brought it to the members attention that my Daughter who helps out at Convenors Day and at the Forrest Cup is pregnant and suggested that she be given some vouchers from the League for her past help and wished a good pregnancy.

At this time can I let the members know that my daughter was gobsmacked by the gesture and wished to thank everyone most kindly for this kind offer.

Bill McCoo then closed the meeting and members thanked for attending.
