The Convenors Day Trophy is a day organised to allow all the Convenors the opportunity to show their own golfing prowess rather than their ability to be a good team manager. All Convenors are cordially invited to attend along with a partner, on this day the handicap allocation of the League does not apply to the Convenor but his guest must fall within the handicap allocation. Should the Convenor be unable to attend he is asked to if possible to send along two representatives from his club, only Convenors playing on the day are eligible to win the Trophy. Below is a list of the host club for the next few years. 2008 Date and time is SUNDAY 20th JULY at Dumbarton Golf Club 1st Tee Off at 11.00am ALL CONVENORS wishing to play please appear for 10.30am so that draw may take place (C'mon guys this is your day out) The winners of last year's Convenors Day and retaining (This to my knowledge is the first time this has happened) the Trophy were P. McGlynn and L. McGlynn from Hayston with a net 66.5 beating Milngavie into second place on 69, closely followed by Campsie 0.5 further back. Many thanks to Dullatur for hosting this years event. I felt rightly or wrongly that the FRIDAY was becoming difficult for Convenors to make it along due to work or other commitments and have shifted it to this day for a trial. Boy how wrong could one be, the turnout was disappointing to say the least but what was even more disappointing is the lack of interest from Convenor's, I was aware of only 1 team not showing up as for the rest a call or e-mail would have been greatly appreciated. Having got that of my chest I believe all that attended enjoyed the day and the course and all were back in the clubhouse in time to see one of the most exciting finishes to the Open for some time. On a personal note may I thank the convenors who could not manage along BUT still had their club represented, Many Thanks. 2003 Clydebank & District 2004 Clydebank Overtoun 2005 Dougalston 2006 Douglas Park 2007 Dullatur 2008 Dumbarton 2009 Hayston 2010 Helensburgh 2011 Hilton Park 2012 Kilsyth 2013 Kirkintilloch 2014 Lenzie 2015 Milngavie 2016 Palacerigg 2017 Renfrew 2018 Sandyhills 2019 Vale of Leven 2020 Windyhill 2021 Bearsden 2022 Bishopbriggs 2023 Campsie 2024 Cardross 2025 Cawder 2026 Clober |
